Hi Slayers! I finally got a chance to post my paperbag pants from the March SewYourView monthly sewalong. Ladies, these pants are a must have!! Like for real you need to get this pattern and sew as many as you can.
I chose a lightweight grayish/black denim fabric love the fabric and how they came out. I cut the pattern bigger because I wanted a more paper bag waisted pant. This is by far one of my favorite patterns. I will be making more of these pants in other colors and can’t wait!
The sewing for these pants weren’t that bad after you got through all the darn markings. Be warned there are tons of markings. I used my washable markers to help keep all my markings together. Brittany J. Jones did a great tutorial on these pants in two different views so you can follow along. She explains the fly zipper much easier than the pattern.
I didn’t have to cut the pants but I did stitch 5 inches for the hem. I am 5ft but I don’t ever shy away from long patterns. I just put on heels or wedges and keep it moving.
The pockets are deep and the pleats give a flattering look for all shapes and sizes.
I enjoy sewing pieces and styling them when going out. I styled this piece with a cute off the shoulder sweater that ties in the back. I also wore it to work with a black turtleneck top and blazer. I am loving working with solids though my love will always be prints.
Here are some more looks from this shoot!
